Before anything gets built, a raw parcel has to be shaped to the engineer’s plan. Why Grade First, Then Build

Water is what ruins a building site, so grade is not cosmetic. Positive slope away from the foundation, matched to the plan elevations, keeps runoff out of the subgrade and off the slab. Getting the cut and fill balanced also saves you money, because dirt that stays on site does not have to be hauled in or hauled off. Our Process

We strip and stockpile topsoil for reuse, cut high spots and fill low ones to reach plan grade, and compact the subgrade as we go rather than after. Finish grading tightens the elevations and slopes to tolerance. Where a site disturbs enough ground to trigger stormwater rules, we install silt fence and erosion control to keep the graded surface in place until the next trade arrives.
